Recognition and Prestige:  Contributor to the "new ethos" in entertainment.

The New Ethos organization is a positive movement in entertainment inspired through the visionary thinking of the late Pope John Paul II, an artist.  John Paul II loved artists and realized the great contribution they make to the human family.  John Paul II said in a speech to entertainment professionals in Los Angeles (September 1987), "You represent one of the most important American influences on the world today...It is a fact that your smallest decisions can have global impact."  Artists, and those that produce and distribute their work, carry a great responsibility for the divine gift entrusted to them.

The New Ethos Logo Award of Excellence is no trivial seal of approval or imprimatur or “good housekeeping seal.”  The New Ethos Logo is a select "branding" of entertainment that exhibits a "new ethos" in entertainment (universal values of Truth-Beauty-Goodness).  New Ethos entertainment is not judged to "fit in a box" rather to creatively stand out as a work of art and entertainment of our time. It contributes significantly to the true, the beautiful, and the good in our culture.  This is something the artist should be proud of, and this is something New Ethos is proud to recognize!

Economic:

The prestige of the New Ethos logo attracts a "new ethos" of consumers who experience entertainment.  A big part of the "new ethos" in the consumer experience will be less fear of entertainment and more desire to benefit from the enrichment it has to offer.  The New Ethos logo communicates, not only a consumer confidence in product quality, but also high lites the product as something significant that deserves attention and support.  Depending on the films recommended maturity level, the logo carries its meaning primarily to a potential 75MM+ Catholic population in America and beyond.
